Parallax StampDAQ is a lightweight data acquisition utility that lets projects built with Parallax BASIC Stamp microcontrollers stream serial data directly into Microsoft Excel. Provided as a macro-enabled workbook, it opens a COM port, listens for simple, formatted messages (typically sent via PBASIC DEBUG), and writes the values into rows and columns in real time. This makes it easy to log sensor readings, add automatic date/time stamps, and create quick Excel charts—ideal for classroom demonstrations, prototyping, and lab experiments without building a custom PC application. It requires a Windows PC with Microsoft Excel (VBA enabled) and a serial or USB-to-serial connection to the microcontroller.
